I'm 39 and I have started having to go to the bathroom very often! Sometimes I can barely make it to the bathroom! I wanted to know if this is a premenopause thing and will it go away? It doesn't matter if I cut back on liquids or not. I do have other premenopause symptoms. I've had bladder/kidney infections in the past and I know this is not that type of problem. I'd appreciate any thoughts and ideas!

Have you checked out the symptoms for IC (interstitial cystitis) or over active bladder?

Girl, you are singin' my song!
I am 44. I had uti's and kidney infections forever. I have always gotten up at least 3x per night to pee. The older I got the more often I went. I tried the no drinking after 6, off caff, you name it, still go all of the time. I had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis December of 08. I did not expect this to change the bladder problem but it has- I am going every 4-5 hours now rather than 1-2 hours. Maybe hormonal?? |

Get a kegel master and use it faithfully. Once you get past the initial spring settings, up it to a 10 second hold, 30 reps 3 times a day. You will notice a difference in a fairly short time. Losing weight can help too and so can abdominal work.

What a relief to find that this is happening to others and not just me. I thought I was going nuts but this has been a problem for me for the last few years. This weekend I saw the doctor and he suggested seeing a specialist. I'm sure that this must be caused from relaxed muscles and will certainly try a kegel master if it can help, anything is better than living like this.
