Default Question about irregular period.

Hi everyone,
Maybe someone here has had the same experience and can shed some light for me.

My period has been regular for 15 years. Give or take a few days, it's always on time. The only time it's been more than 3 or 4 days late is when I'm really training hard for a boxing match and losing a lot of weight for competition.

Last month I visited central America and I have my period the third day there. (BOO) It was short, about 4 days. Then a week later it started for one day and stopped again. That was the first time in my life that has happened. I chalked it up to the food and/or water there and not feeling 100%. It's now been over a month and my period is a week late. (from the original start date) Should I count from the second day that only lasted one day or from the original day? I had cramps a week ago and nothing and I'm bloated and tired as all get out.

Anyone every had this problem? Could it have been from traveling?
