1. What a period feels like depends on your body. Sometimes it hurts like the dickens, sometimes you don't feel anything at all. In my experience, my first year or two of periods were painless.
2. Since it seems like you're an active girl, you will probably know when you need a bra ... when your breasts start hurting. Are you comfortable asking your mom if you can get your first training bra?
3. Sports bras are YOUR BEST FRIEND. They are comfortable and supportive. Whoever is telling you otherwise is probably wearing the wrong size.
4. Wings hold the pad in place and cover the side edges of your panties so you don't get blood on them. They wrap around and adhere to the outside.
5. Why did s/he tell you that you need to see a gyno? Usually a girl does not see a gynecologist until after she has sex for the first time. Either that, or after she turns 18.
6. I posted a thread about a year ago about my first trip to the gynecologist. http://www.womens-health.com/boards/...trip-gyno.html
7. Swimming is the only sport that you "need" to use a tampon for. Otherwise, you should be able to just wear pads if that's what makes you comfortable.
8. I've never heard of such a rule, but I've never played volleyball as a team sport. It IS normal to just go buy thongs at a department store or even Walmart, but don't feel pressured to wear them if you don't want to.
9. They do, but I don't buy them or assume they work. Look around the feminine hygiene section of a drugstore and you can see the varieties that companies have come up with.
I hope these answers help you
Happy posting!
