Question can I change the date of my period?

I'm going on a trip to Aruba with my husband in about 5 weeks, and according to my calendar, I will start my period in about the middle of our trip. Is there any way to change this, like taking the pill or something for a little while? I'm not on it right now-my husband had a vasectomy. I really don't want to be bloated and pms-ing on our trip and then bleeding!

I don't think you can change your period date this s mother nature and she is going to take its course. Maybe you can take some Birth Control Pils to stop the period from coming but I don't think its going to work you might just have to endure some pain while in Aruba I've had my period wreck my vacation for me to Florida for 2 times and I was pissed because I had my bathing suit and was all excited and boom my period comes well we were on at 2 week vacation and the first week was okay but the second week was pure terror I had bad cramps the whole trip

I don't see why you couldn't just go on the pill for the trip..

it doesn't provide full safeness from getting pregnant in the first month, but apparently for you that's not a problem anyway.

If it's a longish trip you're gonna have to take it continuosly though, which means if it's a package for three weeks, where you stop for one week after it's used up, so your period can start, then you're gonna have to use the next package right after the first one is finished.

And if it's the kind where there are pills for four weeks, with the last seven ones being placebos, you're gonna have to leave those out of course.

but I assume you're gonna have to go to a doctor anyway, if you want to get a prescription, so I'm sure theyre gonna tell you that anyway, if you explain why you need it.

    Have fun on your trip!

Thank you for your replies. I'm going to see the doc tomorrow to get on the pill-I'm hoping to get on one that will reduce my PMS symptoms too-I'm tired of the whole monthly thing!!!! That new pill coming out where you only have 4 periods a year sounds awfully nice to me!

Oh you must be talking about Lo'estrin and Seasonale only gives you 4 periods a year...But it sounds awfully strange to me but I'm so irregular I don't know what is normal anymore so yeah I need to go to the doctor but I believe I'm just scared of life ya know I don't want to hear any dreadful news you know, But I just had a period so it couldn't be that bad probably a hormonal imbalance I hope so But I might have Fibroyoids because I get clots of blood when I use the bathroom on my period you know when I'm changing the pad.
