have had one 3.8cm one on my left ovary about 2 years now; I would not even know I had it had a not had irregular periods - some very heavy and long; I don't have any pain or symptoms from it or the newest one; I have not been regular for three years now; my sister is done with menopause at age 47 and has been for 2 years - I am 45; surgery has been suggested b/c now there's another cyst on right side. I do not want surgery - any rememdies to help cysts go away would be appreciated. I swear this is because I am peri-menopausal but docs won't agree. any input would be appreciated

i also have 1 cyst in each of my ovary's, i'm 42 and i've been having this pain off and on for 1 year. in sept 2008 the pain got real intence it lasted for 2 months, my specialist put me on the pill and i've been taking them since nov 2008. i had a really bad period just a few weeks ago it was really heavy and dark brown and red and i had it for 2 weeks with alot of pain, was taking tynole 3's and using a heating pad and taking alot of very hot bath's...i was wondering if it had broke...but i still get a little dull aching on the right side still and i have been having brown discharge all the time sometimes it stop's for a day or 2 then it starts up again...not sure why, my dr said if i could lose weight that my problem will go away...i'm over weight and christmas is not helping me out, but i'm planning on joining weight watchers in the new yr...i have to try something...i think really we are both premenopausal. i had no problem before i think because of our ages our bodies are slowly getting closer to that time when we will not have a period. hope your doing well!

i've also had cysts, but i got them when i was 14. im now 19. These things are very painful. I was actually in the emergency room about to go in to have my appendix taken out because the doctors couldn't figure out what it was. thankfully they figured it out in time. but i haven't had them checked in a couple of years. but i haven't had any pain either. i assume its all ok..any ideas on how or why i got them so young?
And to answer your question..eh, or not. i have no idea on how to make them go away. wish i knew. sorry i couldn't help. and goodluck!

Im sorry to hear that you had to go thru so much, and I hope the surgery went ok, I was wondering could you tell me some of your symptoms that caused you to have to have surgery how irregular was your period, did you skip months, was it light or heavy or both. Sorry to ask so many questions.

thats ok. im happy to answer any questions. my periods have always been regualar well every 23 days, well in the time leading up to me going to the doctors, my periods went frrom day 23 today 29 then 3 weeks late then 8 weeks late and my stomach grew rapidly. the doctor saidit was either a babys head or a cyst and sent me for an ultrasound. i was scared still and had no idea i just thought idgained a little weight! lol. the longest i went without a period was 8 weeks.
oncei had tests scans etc i wastold surgery wasthe only option asmy cyst was too big to leave it alone.just as well really asit was 8 kiilo s andthey drained 10 litres of
    fluid! so very large!

Hi guys em im amy. and i was wondering could you help me.
Im really afraid. my periods have become very irregular. my last one was over a month late, so were the rest in the past year. it ranges between 2 weeks and 3 months late. But its getting worse. iv started getting pains. i get cramps but these are horrific. it happens on the first or second day when my period finally shows up. The pains are crippiling. it makes me almost pass out and when im in school and it happens it gets to much and i start letting out screeches.i dont know how to describe the pain apart from overwhelming to the point it makes me want to be sick. i used to get period cramps but in the past 6 months its gotten progressivly worse. my last period was 3 weeks ago and it was very wierd. it was abnormally light. barely anything. but it hurt very VERY bad. yet it lasted only 3 and a half days. in the past 6 months they also been shockingly heavy.Iv started to also put on weight if thats anything to do with it. iv been trying to research it but i end up getting upset because i dont know whats wrong with me. Im 17 now. iv had my period 5 years now. its always been irregular and painfull but now its gotten to a point i cant cope with it. when the pains start im immediatly sent home from school.my teachers i think have been informed because they notice my little screeches that i try so hard to hold in. i get very dizzy when it happens aswell. i had an std test about 8 months ago and iv had no new sexual parters since then so im ok on that level.
could it be cysts? will i be ok? i told my doctor but i think he thought i was overexagerating. im really not.

Wooow that is large, my periods are also now irregular after being regular before I had my son I could predict when my period was going to come on after I had him soon after it was irregular since then (which my son is 6) the longest I had a regular period was in 6 months intervals I have gained wait from taking iron pills in the past because of excessive bleeding Ive had many vaginal ultrasounds and also an exploratory surgery where they found a cyst on one of my ovaries I cant remember which one I have a pulling feeling on my left side though if I move a certain way or get up to fast I went to the doc yesterday because of another crazy period (it's posted under menstrual cycle also) she said most of my tenderness is on my lower left side and right below my belly button does any of this sound familiar?
