Had Blood Clot, Not Normal For Me...

This is my first time posting on this site and I have a concern about my period this month. I passed a rather medium size blood clot and I never pass them that size at all and I had a pap smear done just eight months ago and I had blood work done about three to four weeks ago and that was fine, so I don't understand why I passed this blood clot? I am calling my doctor to let him know, but I am 36 yrs old and I can't image going through menopause already?!?! Any have any suggestions as to what this could be???
