Hi everyone!

I'm not sure if this is all related but I'll explain everything anyways.
A few weeks ago my doctor said that I could safely not have a period (I use the Nuva ring) by replacing my old ring with a new one. She said I may have some spotting.
So I did that and had no period and no spotting. Well about a two weeks ago my boyfriend and I had sex and he went in me (I know, bad choice). I never take out the ring during sex though. He was worried I would be pregnant and I took a test and it was negative.
Well about 4 days ago I started spotting a brown smelly discharge. I took out the ring yesterday so I would have my period.

Do you think I'm spotting because my body knows it's my period time or maybe something else?
