I have been having my period since October. Sometuimes it is quite light, then it changes to ridiculously heavy.
In that time I have had maybe 14 days where I had no bleeding of some kind. I have been on Provera for 6 days and am STILL bleeding.
Is Provera meant to stop the bleeding??

I am unfamiliar with Provera, so I cannot answer that. I have a friend going through something similar. Seems she's on her period constantly..sometimes light but sometimes very heavy. She'll go off for a couple days and then it returns. She went to get put on the pill to try and regulate, but her doctor scheduled her a pelvic ultrasound to rule out other more serious problems before putting her on the pill. She hasn't had it yet so I'm not sure what the results will be. Sounds like you may want to insist upon further investigation from your doctor.

    hi Beautiful Disaster
Provera is a progesterone pill..I can't take the pill as I get very depressed when on it.
I had an ultrasound..all clear except for thickened lining of uterus.
I have been looking to see what provera shopuld do, as I don't really remember what the doctor said, but can't find a website that will state it in plain english!!

How old are you? Anywhere near perimenopause? I was bleeding constantly ,the doc attributed it to stress, tried progesterine and it made me weepy. Had a super thick lining. Got a D&C and ablation and no trouble since.
