Default 13 days... starts and stops

I am beginning to be really worried. My period usually lasts 7 days, but it has been 13 days this time. The first 5 days were normal, then I stopped for a day and then started again. The weird part is that I will stop for about 12 hours, bleed semi-heavily for about an hour and I will have a large clot, about the size of an egg yoke. I will then stop for another 12 hours and then repeat the process. This has been going on for about 7 days.

I have had a few longer periods before, but nothing like this. I did have a really long cycle last month, about 38 days. Could it be stress?

    Thank you

well it could be but if you feel like it could mess with your health in any way go seek medical help but simular stuff has been happening to me and when i went to the hospital all they did was waist my time and tell me it was abnormal bleeding if you go be sure to be sure to stress the facts and little details but they have to check your blood count you can be loseing alot of blood dont risk it ive been doing research and its hard to find answers people usually dot warm up to this type of subject but i noe how worring, stressful, upseting and fustrating this can be right when your think your back on track you get another vist longer and heaver so please seek attention if you had sex last month or ect it coould be a misscarage but like i said earlyer be sure to stress every single detail... good luck

How old are you ? It could be hormonal changes due to perimenopause.

Hi ladies. I just registered to become part of this forum, as I stumbled on to this post while researching the same issue that I have been having for about a year now.

Unfortunately, it seems to be getting worse and my husband's insurance sign-up doesn't kick in until May.

I've had cysts on my ovaries and cervix before, but nothing of concern. I am hitting the big 36 in May, so is perimenopause out of the question, or can women start in their 30s?

I'll be digging around to research other similar posts, but figured I'd start here first.

Just hate the waiting game until I can get checked.

    Have a wonderful weekend, ladies!
