there are like a million different things that could cause that. Is it heavy bleeding? You need to check with your doc on this one. Vaginal bleeding is a big deal, you can lose significan amounts of blood. How man pads or tampons are you soaking a day? I'd def go see your gyn/pcp

I don't know where to start. There are quite a few reasons as to why you are having this irregular bleeding. Are your periods usually regular? Are you taking any type of birth control? (pill, injection or IUD?) Do you have children?
Irregular Periods: If your periods are irregular bleeding for this amount of time may not be totally out there...depending on the amount of bleeding you're having still. It shouldn't be heavy, but maybe slight spotting that becomes a great annoyance. Birth control: If you're not on any type of birth control, sometimes your periods can become irregular, when they weren't before. Also, there's a chance of a "chemical pregnancy" or an early miscarriage that could be causing the excessive bleeding. I had a problem similar to yours that came up when my daughter was 10 months old. I ended up being on my period for 7 months and having to get a D&C done before the bleeding stopped. I'd call your OB/GYN or primary care physician to set up an appointment to get on some type of birth control. The progesterone in the BC will help hold your uterine lining in place. If you're already on birth control I suggest you change to a stronger pill. If you don't have a dr you can go to plannedparenthood.com to find a location near you. You can set up an appointment and they offer birth control. It's not free to everyone, but maybe around $30/month. They also offer DepoProvera which is an injection birth control you take once every 3 months. This will lighten your periods, maybe even eliminate them. Only do this, however, if you're not planning on having children in the near future, as it can take a while for the medication to leave your system. Good luck. |
