Well i've been on birth control pills for about 3 years now, off and on, and i love it. It regulates my periods so well. But here lately, i will stop the regular "blue" pills (the ones i take before my period) and begin the 7 green pills for my period, which usually starts my period in about 2-3 days, but sometimes it doesnt come for 6-7 days, when i start the blue pills again.. and i wont even have a period, its usually just a dark brown, really light discharge that only lasts a few days, like im not even having a period. hmm?
Taking birth control is NOT a gaurantee that your cycles will stay regular. Factors like stress and hormones can effect your period. The brown color in your discharge is actually blood. It turns brown over time. Periods do not necessarilly have to always be heavy. They can be very light and spotty. Most likely you are just having irregular periods from stress or hormones. Many women will try changing birth control to get their cycles under control again. You would have to see your doctor about that. It's always best if you tell your doctor about your concerns.
