I'm 20 years old and in a relationship and am active. I'm not on birth control or anything of the sort, and we do use protection and have not had any accidents or anything like that. For about two weeks I was taking Zoloft, but stopped two weeks before my period started on the 20th.
My period was normal and lasted seven days, ending on the 27th, but then this last Tuesday I had some spotting. I thought nothing of it, that it was normal, and had nothing else on Wednesday. Yesterday, Saturday, it came back. It's not the bright red blood, but the darker brown, like the lining and stuff. Now it's Sunday and it's heavy enough that just a panty liner wont suffice and I'm experiencing cramps again. Do I need to rush into the doctor this week or is this semi-normal? Anyone have an idea of what's going on?
It could be normal, but since I'm assuming this is the 1st time it has happened you will want to get it checked out. I have known women where that is normal, and then some where there was a real problem (like myself.) If you have had any stressful events in your life this can throw your period out of whack perfect health or not.
If it stops in the next few days and you don't have anymore cramps just make an appointment just in case to make sure everything is OK, if it gets worse, you should get checked out right away.
As I said, it could be nothing, but there is the chance where it could be something.
