I have been spotting for 2 weeks now, sometimes it looks "stringy". Also I have never had regular periods my entire life. I am 31, and I don't take birth control pills. I do not have any health insurance so it is hard to see a doctor. Does anyone know what this could be?

Go to a Family Planning Clinic, they will work with you on not having insurance & payment plans if needed.

    Default spotting for 2 weeks

I have this issue almost everytime I have my period. I don't take birth control pills and have not been on them for 4 years. I only had the "normal period" only when I was on birth control pills. My OBGYN doctor tells me that this spotting is normal for me because I have polycystic ovaries (cystis inside the ovaries). The ovaries which have these cysts inside them have problems with balancing out my hormones. I am not saying that you have this condition, but it sounds that you might have a hormone problem.

Also, the Family Planning Clinic Never caught this issue with me. Don't get me wrong, they are a great place to start at, but I believe they will suggest that you go to an OB doctor. I had to go to several doctors to finally figure out what was wrong.

    Good luck
