Has anyone had this procedure? If so, did it help? I am thinking of asking my gyn about it. On bcp now to lighten period but don't like the side effects that accompany it.

    TIA!

I realize this post is a year old, but I thought I'd reply in case anyone else out there had the same question because I know I did. I just had the NovaSure done in June. So far, I have had no side effects and no periods since the procedure. I did have two weeks of dischagre right after and 2 days of some extremely light spotting the following month, but nothing else. At this point, I'd say it was a success and I'd recommend this procedure to anyone. It was mildly uncomfortable for several hours following the procedure, but take the pain meds and fire up a heating pad - it is survivable. I did a lot of reading and researching right up until the day of the procedure and found a lot of negative posts, but I did it anyway because let's face it, people are more vocal about something when it goes wrong than when it goes right. The only thing you have to lose is painful, heavy periods.
