Confused. Can anyone help?
Sorry if this is a little disgusting. My cycle is normally very predictable - the same each month, no problems. This month I started getting the normal post-menstruation symptoms, swollen breasts, slight cramping, but my period didn't come for a while. It seemed to start a couple of days ago but it was very light, and only lasted half a day then stopped. A day later it came back, heavier but still lighter than normal with extremely severe cramps. That too lasted only half a day. I also noticed a strange thick, pale, mucus-like discharge that I've never had before. I'm also experiencing headaches, nausea and appeared to have flu-like symptoms the other day. I had unprotected sex approximately six days prior to the first bleed. I have also just started taking the pill about two weeks ago. Does anyone know what this might be?
Well your worry is warranted, you have only just started the pill it takes a full cycle, then your periods and then off you go, before un-protected sex.
My take is that your body is getting used to the pill.
It needs to adjust after all we are providing something foreign into our bodies.
Please don't have any further un-protected sex until you have finished taking the pill, bleed reasonably properly and then all clear to go.
If you were to be pregnant it's a bit early to tell, I think.
And, the fact that you have bleed I doubt it but don't tempt faith sweet.
