Default 2 months long period and counting. HELP!!

so at the end of april I started my period. Well I actually spotted. A day here and there up until may 20. Wasn't heavy enough to where more than a liner. After may 20 my flow got really heavy. Soaking through both tampons and pads and ruining alot of clothes. It's finally calmed down to the point that a pad will withstand but I no long trust tampons cause I go through them to quickly (about 1 every hr or so). Doctor said it could be the weight that I've gained but I'm thinking its more stress related. The days I'm stressed it gets heavy. Yesterday morning its was very light, I was getting excited cause I wore a pad all day and it never got dirty, blood was just there when I wiped. Nonetheless, later last night I got hit with a horrible toothache and migraine. This is normal for me to get but as soon as the blinding pain hit, so did the heavy flow down stairs. I have another follow up on July 17 with my doctor but in the mean time this bleeding needs to stop. Its causing alot of other issues. Like my lack of energy. I just took my 30 min lunch break from work and slept in my car. Not to mention some mood swings that are crazy. does anyone know any home remedies that could slow the blood down? Plus does anyone know what this could be. All my blood work came back normal as did the pelvic exam.

Are you sure it's a period?
You might be bleeding internally and stress is causing it to come out. Ask a professional to do an exam. Periods should never be that long. You might consider taking the pill to stop the flow, that might help a little.

    Default You may have PCOS.

Your period sounds like the one that I had before I actually went to see the doctor and was told that I have PCOS. This was after not having one for about a year. They told me the same thing that it might be my weight. But go see your doctor they will be able to tell you for sure.

    Default I understand

I was on my period for 9 months last year. No joke never a day break. My doc said PCOS but we are still working it out. After a few procedures things seemed better but two months ago it started again and hasn't ended. Do lots of research and don't be afraid to ask your doc questions. Don't leave out the details either. The more they know the better they can help you.
    Good luck.

luckily for me, it doesn't seem like its going to last that long. I know it was on the path tho. they gave me some med and I can happily say right now that I've been period free for 4 days. Now I finish my meds on thursday so we'll see. All my work and exams have come back normal so they are thinking the 2 months I missed my period, my uterine walls got extremely thick and my body just couldn't catch up. what she gave me is supposed to desolve the build up. hopefully it works

Default Im having the same trouble...

I have been suffering from extended periods for a long time. Every since I started menstruating at the age of 12, I have always been irregular. Now I'm 35. Over the course of the years, I never told anyone about this issue because I felt pretty embarrassed and like a freak. 8 years ago I finally went to visit a doctor and he put me on bc and iron supplements after having my period for over 7months straight punctuated with days of nothing. This regimen made me very nauseous and constipated and I lost alot of weight and after 4 months I stopped.

2 years ago it happened again for 7 months, this time I needed to get a blood transfusion because my veins were collapsing with lack of blood circulating and I was having trouble breathing and as the doc said, I was at high risk of a heart attack. This really scared me. I went on bc again and iron supplements, only this time I gained enormous weight.

I was told my hormones needed help regulating and when I relocated to another country, I was not able to get the same bc brand here. I was told by the doctor that I am not supposed to change brands of bc because it adversely affects my system and I am suffering from the same symptoms now.

Does anyone have a suggestion. An alternative remedy is very welcome...Please help...
