In 1998 at the age of 39, I went through a divorce, a forced corporate relocation, emergency spinal surgery (I was almost completely paralyzed) and had an 11 year old daughter diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. Needless to say, the stress made my periods stop.
Cut to today. I started bleeding a few hours ago for the first time in 11 years. I'm now 50 years old. I have no cramps, although I never really did. But I always 'felt' my period, even without cramps. I feel nothing this time. It was a shock.
I'm a bit freaked out because I have no idea why my period would resurface after so much time, and without any fanfare. And I make too much for public assistance, but not enough to visit a doctor.
Anyone have any advice on what to do or what it could be?
You are probably hitting the famous change of life and oddly enough, periods get closer together and heavier before they stop. A check of your hormone levels can confirm it
