im 18 years old and a couple months ago was the first time ive experienced spotting/bleeding in between my periods. my last period started on july 8 and the one before that started on june 14. between those dates is when i randomly started spotting.

it began less than a week after my period on june 14 and lasted around a week then suddenly stopped. (i think it was during my fertile days) it looked like regular clear fertile mucous except mixed with bright colored blood and i only saw it when wiping after using the restroom. i didnt really worry that much because it wasnt painful and i didnt need to wear a tampon or pad. but then it flared up again around 5 days before my next period started on july 8. this time i also had some bloody mucous, but more light pink blood that just absorbed into the toilet paper. however, i was in pain this time. i felt incredibly bloated, gassy, major cramping, lower back pain and pressure, difficulty moving my bowels, & random sharp pains in the left middle side of my stomach that only last seconds at a time.

then my actual menstrual cycle began which was extremely heavy! I normally have slight cramping and bloating starting with 2 days of heavy bleeding; ending with 2 days of light. i went through 36+ super tampons (which was the whole box) during my period on july 8-12.

im embarrassed to say this, but on the last day of my period that started on june 14, i douched. i remember i used more then half of it, then stopped because i began feeling irritation and discomfort while usage. it was only my second time using a douche and i completely forgot that it said to NOT USE WHILE SPOTTING OR MENSTRUATING!! i just read the box and it said that it can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).

im going to see my doc right away!!

if anyone has any comments, opinions, or personal experiences with random spotting/bleeding in between periods regardless of the cause, please do so.
