Irregular/Long periods, brown blood
My periods have occured roughly every other month for the past 2 years. Occasionally I will have one back to back. Prior to this they were occuring every month basically to the day. However, in February this year I had a particularly uncomfortable period. I actually stayed home from work because I woke up with very tense lower back pain. I've never missed school/work due to my period before. My period that month seemed slightly heavier than normal but didn't last any longer than usual..about 5 days. I had another period in April which was normal from what I can remember. In June I experienced a very light amount of bright red spotting followed by about 2 days of brown tissue/blood. Then nothing for about a week. As of right now I have been bleeding again for about 2 and a half weeks. The blood is mostly brown unless I get up and get involved in some sort of activity..like whenever I'm cleaning the house or lifting things...or (sorry TMI) whenever I go numero dos. Due to the fact that I've had irregular periods in the past I always get paranoid about pregnancy (as I am not on birth control of any kind) but I haven't tested to be sure. I have been taking naps in the evenings after work a few days a week and I generally start to lose energy at work about half way through the day. I've also had some heartburn recently but that's not entirely out of the norm for me. I have not experienced any cramps that I would consider abnormal either.
I do plan to make an appointment with a doctor but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask for opinions. I've never been to the gyno before so I don't have any known history of problems.
