I am on birth control, but there were a few days last month (around the time I ovulate) that I forgot to take my birth control and didn't realize I hadn't taken it until after sex. A couple weeks later, I starts getting some pregnancy symptoms and my period was late.

My period came 3 days late, and it was an extremely heavy flow. Beyond anything I've ever had before. It lasted 8 or 9 days (usually lasts 4-6). Immediately following my period, I had a large amount of mucus for a couple of days. Then the mucus was slightly pink in color for about 3 days. Now it's red or brown, and it been two weeks since I started my period. I have never had this before. Any idea what is going on?
