Hi, I am just another woman hoping that someone here can help. I'll try to give as much information as possible so forgive me if this ends up being really long.

When I first started my period (around 12 years old), they were normal for the most part. I got them like clockwork and everything was great, or as great as a normal period can be.

They started to be irregular in high school. I just skipped them every once in a while and spotted in between them sometimes. That became my norm.

Well I am 21 now and for the past 2 months or so, they have been pretty different. I spotted on and off for about a month in June/July and it ended with a pretty heavy period. At least heavier than I normally had.

After that period I had about 3 weeks of nothing and then I started spotting again. This time I spotted for less time and then started another very heavy period. That lasted for about a week and a half. Then I had nothing for a week and a half and then had a SECOND very heavy period that month, which is what is currently happening to me.

When I say heavy, I just mean that it's lasting for longer than usual and the heaviest day of my normal period is what is happening for at least a week for the past two periods I've had, including this one.

I know they say to take note of how many pads are being soaked, but for some reason, a lot of my period blood is not making it to the pad. This could be because I keep using the restroom and wiping to see what's going on because I have become very aware about it.

The weird thing is that when I sit on the toilet, I'll start dripping. It has been like that for maybe 5 or so days. The blood is very bright red and it just drips. I guess you could say that it is a watery consistency.

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or might know why this is suddenly happening. For a long time I was getting average length periods every couple of months and now I am getting VERY heavy periods more often than once a month.

Here is some history in case it might help: Yes I am sexually active but lately not much because of what is happening to me. It is with the same person for the past three years and we always use protection. I am definitely not pregnant (I have taken many tests over the past 2 months). I have never used any kind of birth control (other than condoms). There has been no significant weight loss or weight gain. I may have gained a little weight, but like I said, it is not significant. Oh, and I am having no pain whatsoever.

My theory is that I am having a hormonal change (growth spurt?). Does that happen around my age (21)? It would make sense because of some other things that are happening. I have been getting much more acne than usual lately. My boobs have gotten bigger since the last time I went bra shopping so that means it happened in the past year. I have gotten these random stretch marks on my inner thighs that probably weren't caused by weight gain because I don't think I have gained much weight.

Please don't talk about going to the doctor because I am going to go. I just would like to talk to some people about this first.

    Thank you in advance!

things can change with a womens body for many reason. I am 26 and been dealing with crazy periods. Mines coming from a large amount of weight gain from depression, and the reason I'm depressed is cause extreme stress (my mom passed away a yr ago). I bled for 95 days straight. The bright red watery blood you speak of. its hard to tell what it is thats doing it to you. could be stress. best way to tell is just make a visit to your doctor. it never hurts to get checked
