Anywho, so yeah, just like you all have said, I've got cyst or fibroid train of thought now. I mean other than a ultra sound, theres not much more they can look at that they haven't all ready. I refuse to except the brush off solutions like birth control pills or what not. My mom was told for 6 months she had a bleeding ulcer and thats why she was spitting up blood only to find out it was Lung Cancer the whole time. Surgeon said if they would have found it when she started seeing the doctor, she would have been at stage 1 because the test showed the tumors the spread where only there for about 2 months tops. My point, CW you are right, we have to be proactive with our health. Doctors dont know everything, we know our bodies better than them

Wow sounds like you are in a situation very much like I was, reoccuring stress, bleeding and insurance running out. What I did was simply told my GYN, "my insurance lasts another month, I don't know when if ever, I'll get another job that has it and I can't live with this and I won't be able to afford to do anything in another month!" Then we discussed the D&C, which solved the problem. It is an outpatient surgery and she preferred to to exhaust other options - I needed it dealt with.
The bleeding depletes your energy, messes up your sex life and is flat out annoying and worrisome. You have to get very insistant that a quick, effective solution be found.

sex life? whats that? LOL!!! My bf and i prior to this had a very very healthy sex life. We were like bunnies, now i feel like I have a room mate. Plus it makes me feel so disgusted that I dont even feel like cuddling or kissing half the time which is soooooooooooo not like me. You're right it depletes your energy. I just called my BF on my break like i always do and I feel asleep on the break room table with the phone to my ear. LOL!!! I dont miss this feeling at all. Last week it wasn't so bad because it was normal flow, well the volume has picked up to bleeding through 2 forms of coverage again. And of course the Dang nasty clots are back. Those are my favorite part
![]() Yes the bleeding is a pain in my rear, well the others side to be tech. LOL!!! but the wondering why is much much worse. We now have a month to figure it out cause to keep my insurance it'll cost over $300 a month. I'll get her to do an ultrasound and if that comes back ok, i'll check into a D&C. I've heard of it but what is it exactly?

Basically they go in and dilate your cervix then go in and clean everything out, scrape out the lining of your uterus. I had it done in Feb and it was probably the best thing I could have done.
Google - Dilation and curettage, you'll find a bunch of info.

Miya, i can see where you are coming from. My only really reason for sticking with a female is honestly comfort. It would be like me going the the mens health site asking about menstral problems. I would feel very comfortable doing that. I just feel embarrassed talking to a guy about how bad I'm bleeding and the clots. LOL!!! Yeah at least I know a women will understand. Like the craps. How can a guy understand what really bad craps feel like when he's never been there. i women would be more apt to take them seriously.

HAHA - yeah - it's honestly personal preference. I've been to both and I honestly prefer a male Dr. I found with the female Dr I went to, if she didn't agree with my pain threshold, it didn't matter. It seemed like in her opinion, if something didn't hurt her, then it shouldn't hurt anybody. Don't know. I found a Dr now who is awesome. His bedside manner is wonderful and he's very matter of fact, easy to talk to, etc.

Krystal,
I didn't mean to say anything negative about either gender doc. It was just kind of a theory that really popped into my head as I was reading the posts is all. I see a male Dr. now and when I first started I did have the bout with embarrassment too so I know what you mean (but then I was a bit embarrassed when I first saw a female too, haha). I apologize if I offended.Lana I agree on the bedside manner. The male docs I've seen have in general tended to have a more gentle demeanor in this regard while the females have displayed similar to your comment about pain threshold.

MY experience has been just the opposite. Guess you have to keep looking until you find one that is right for you.

Advocate for your health. Demand that you have every test you want done. That's the only way to really pursue finding out what's up. I had severe pain my side a few years ago, it felt like I was being stabbed. We went the ER, and the doctor told me I pulled a muscle. .umm, no. So I went to another doctor, and had an ultrasound done. They didn't find anything abnormal, and we still to this day don't know what caused that pain. I feel if I had pursued it further, we would have found out.
