I started taking birth control just over two months ago. But this month I got my period 7 days early and i still have it 11 days later and it doesn't seem like it is going to stop any time soon. Should I stop taking the pill or could it be caused by something else?
Hello Supergirl101!
Many doctors neglect to inform women of the many side effects that the pill can cause. if this has not happened to you before and you have just started taking the pill, I would most certainly say that YES it is the pill! It does not agree with many many women and this can play out in many many ways.
Are you taking it for birth control? if you are, there are actually other ways to take control of this WITHOUT having to load your body up with synthetic hormones and be causing havoc with your fertility! Natural fertility Education or Natural Family Planning is a method used for birth control and is 98%, when you use it properly (just like the pill). AND it is an incredibly empowering process! Imagine just 'knowing' when you are fertile and being absolutely sure when you are infertile? and being able to really know and trust your body and the signals it is giving you.
I encourage all women to empower themselves with this knowledge. It certainly changed my life and really connected me to my body and my experience as a woman.
If you are taking it for period irregularities or pain, then there are also other ways to manage this. As I have discussed in other threads, the pain, emotion, irregularities are ways in which your body is communicating with you that it is certainly out of balance and is needing some attention. If it is severe you may need to seek some professional medical help - a Chinese Doctor would be my recommendation, one who specialises in women's health or another practitioner who helps you to find a natural solution.
Hope this is helpful.
