I've been married for about a year now, I took bc for about nine months and then we decided to start having babies in the future, I knew that after I got off of bc I needed to wait for my body to to get used to not being on bc. We've been trying to get pregnant for a couple of months, but still no luck. I don't know what to do, If I haven't had my period in 8 months, does that mean that I'm not ovulating? I haven't gone to a doc, b/c we can't afford health insurance, plus I just moved to a whole new state and don't know where I can go for help. I have gained more weight and do get mood swings. I need to know if I really need to worry or could it just be something that I need to wait out? How soon could it be to get pregnant? Any advised or information would be of great comfort or help. |

Are you sure your not preggo now? I was going to suggest provera ita a pill that your doc can prescribe you that will make you start your period. THat gave a me a jump start in the right direction b/c I was irregular and wanted to get preg. If you don't have ins though I don't know what you could do but wait, a Health clinic could prescribe the provera since you havent had a period in such a long time. HTH

Hi, I think you should make your health a priority & find a Planned Parenthood or other free clinic & get checked out. You said you're in a new area, so just check the phone book! They provide many resources, including pregnancy tests- which is sounds like you might need! Weight gain & mood swings are two symptoms of pregnancy, you know!
Another thought about not having your period for so long... I saw your username is "soccerplayer"- how often do you play? Do you work out excessively? Sometimes when women work out to extremes their bodies try to conserve energy (so to speak) by ending menstruation. So make sure you get enough to eat, rest well and get checked out somewhere... somehow! Let us know how it goes! Megan

I know exactly how you feel Im 22 years old and I started out just having irregular menstral cycles about 3 years ago after I stopped my bc, I havent had my pierod for a year and a half. Ive seen doctors they've done tests but cannot find anything wrong and show no concern.my husband and I want children but are afraid we might not be able to because of this
