Default Bleeding after my period. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi, I'm new. I'm 18, am not sexually active, and am not on birth control. I have an issue and I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

See, my period was two weeks ago. However, about a week ago, I started experiencing bleeding and brown stuff coming out as well. This has been happening for a couple of months, which I brushed off, because, at the time, there was no blood only brown. I asked my mother, who assured me that this is normal. I've also looked on the internet, which I think just ended up scaring me. Throughout life, my cycle has always been regular and usually lasts about 4 days.

I just want to know if I should be worried about it or just shrug it off as something normal.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Shrug it off. Your mom was right about the brown stuff, it is normal. It is often just uterine lining without blood-"left over period" is what I like to call it. The only time you should really be worrying about bleeding is if it does not stop for months or you have consistent off and on periods during the months. In that case you would probably have to go to the doctor and may be put on birth control to regulate your periods (but this is a very unlikely thing that would happen to you). When periods are off and on for a period of time it is likely due to fluctuating progesterone levels in the body, and obviously only the doctor can tell you if you do or not.

Brown is old blood or tissue. If it happens shortly after your period it's probably just some stuff that got stuck up there. If you keep having fresh blood off and on or if it starts happening for more than a few days after every period I'd see a doctor. It could also be a sign of some type of trauma or stress to your reproductive tract that keeps releasing small amounts of blood or tissue.
