Period ended 2 weeks ago, starting again!?!
My period ended almost 2 weeks ago, this week I was worried about some horrible cold burning in my abdomen which a lot of people distinguish as cramping, I consider it pure torture. Then today I wiped down there and there was a lot of brown kind of thick blood/discharge which smelled awful! I freaked out! I'm not on birth control since I am not having sex, the only thing that could possibly to my knowledge have caused this is a switch maybe in my anti-depressants (very small change, just 20 mg) or that my dr. prescribed a new med for my acid reflux (protonix) oh yea, and that I am very stressed out this month because of my tmj, moving apts, new job and other personal stuff. but i want another opinion. i have a tendency to overreact about things, can you tell? lol

Don't worry, some women's periods consist of really dark brown blood and thick clumps of tissue. It's very normal. And it's not supposed to smell good. It's a combination of old blood and vaginal fluids. Blood starts to smell bad after a while.
The cramping is a normal symptom as well. For some women it really is unbearable. I used to get them so bad that I would cry and roll around like I had been shot or something. Just take some Ibuprofine before you start to feel it come on.
It's also normal for your cycles to be a little irregular from time to time. Some times they will be late, early, not as long, or a lot longer.
Stress, depression, and anti-depressants are all well known for having an effect on periods and sex drive. So either one of those things could be causing your irregular cycle. I would see how the next month goes.
