okay, so about 5 weeks ago I had unprotected sex, but I got my period a week later. I am on birth control though. I'm about to have my period within the next few days and I have this brown discharge. It doesnt smell and it doesn't itch, but I've never had it before so I'm really freaking out. I haven't had sex since the unprotected sex five weeks ago. What can this be??? Can someone please help?!?!

It sounds normal to me because you got your period after you had unprotected sex. How long have you been on birth control for?? Its normal to get brown discharge either before or after your period. If you suspect you are pregnant though, get a test to find out for sure

I've been on it for about five years. I wasn't concernered I was pregnant until I got the discharge. I've never had it before and it definitely caught me by surprised. I started it on the last day of my pill, so I know my period is coming within 2-3 days. I was wondering what could cause it and why? And is there any way to prevent it?

For me, i know the pill causes it but it is different for everyone. Have you taken a test to be sure?

I've been on the same pill for about 3 years so I don't know if I can all the sudden get changes like that. I haven't had a test yet, but I usually get my period on Tuesday, so I'm hoping I get it tomorrow. It's no longer a discharge, its more like a light period and it seems like its getting heavier. Usually when I start my period I get it fast and right away, not slowly like I seem to be getting now. Is it possible to still be pregnant even though I had my period last month and haven't had sex since??

Generally, a borwn coloured discharge is just older blood stored. I ahev spoken to my doctor about this because it is normal for me with every period. This time I have had it now for a week and still waiting for the normal blood flow to start. But I have changed my pill recently so that can alter it.

But generally, the longer between period the more common it is for there to be some brown discharge, which is in fact, blood. It has just been in your body a bit longer.
