    Question clots??

I have a question that has me very perplexed right now. I am often irregular with my periods and then for a few months they will be on time (or with in a few days of thier due date). So the other day when I was ten days late I really thought nothing of it when I did start. But as my period progressed I noticed that this one was a bit different. At the start I had a very dull pain, not like my usual cramps. Took some midol and it was gone shortly and never started back. This month my period is neither heavier or lighter then usual but I dont seem to have the clotting that I usually have. I guess you could say that I am asking, is this normal to not have any clots at all? Or am I just making a big deal out of nothing? Dont know if it makes any difference but I am not beginning my fourth day with out any. If anyone has any answers I would greatly appreciate it.

First of all, they are not blood clots. They are clumps of uterine lining tissue. And it is normal to have them and not to have them. It doesn't matter either way. Some women will have them and some won't. Your hormone levels determin how thick your uterine wall will be each month. The thicker the wall, the more clumps of tissue you will have.

Also, cramping can vary from sharp stabbing pains (usually near ovaries) to dull aching (commonly in the lower back). It will vary throughout your life.

It is also normal for most women to have occassional irregular cycles, changes in cycles, and changes in symptoms.
