i've always had a regular cycle. i ended my last cycle last weekend. but i've started my periods again last night. there's a dark red-brown discharge. why would that happen?

It's common for most women to have an irregular period at some point in their lives. Some more then others. Many things can cause that to happen. Stress, illness, exercize, poor diet, or natural hormone fluctuations can be the cause. I would give it some time, see how the next month goes and if there are still irregularities, maybe see your gynecologist just to be sure. Stress can cause you to have an irregular period for a long time for some women.
