Thread: i havent had my period in 6 months!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

hi i am 15 years old and i had my first period in september and i havent gotten it since and it has been 6 months and i havent had sex and i keep gettin this yellowish whiteish discharge and im getting scared so can u please help me or give any information that u know..i would greatly appreciate it.

I had that same problem when I first got my period. I had to have been around 12 when I first got it. Since then, I'm 22 now, I've had nothing but irregular periods. I'm over-weight, and that is part of the problem. Fat cells will store estrogen, and in turn, cause the level of estrogen in your system to rocket through the roof. This can cause irregular periods. But there are numerous reason's as to why you're periods are so off track. The best advice would be to go see a OB/Gyn and get some testing done. You'll probably have to get all sorts of blood work done, but don't worry, it's not all that bad. You'll probably have to get a pap-smear done as well, just so they can check for any kind of cancers or problems with your insides. I found out that the reason I'm so irregular is because I have annovulation. That's also linked to the obesity. I don't ovulate as much as other females do, so I don't have the need to "discard" eggs, as often as other women, so I'm lucky if I get my period every 3-4 months. One time I went as long as a year with out getting my period, and at the time was sexually active. I thought I was pregnant there for a while, and kept taking test after test, and they kept coming back negative. Talk about a scare!!! But don't be afraid. If it is something serious, which most of the time, it's not, you'll be glad you went to the OB/Gyn and had it taken care of early on.
