    Unhappy PMDD

Hey, I'm 16 and pretty much i've just been told i have servere pmdd. I started menstrauting when I was nine. Pretty much it freaks me out and i was just wondering if anyone could give me tips or ideas to help keep it under control particularly the depressive moods. I guess i'm scared because i seriously get suicidal and feel completely out of control. It's like i'm in a massive hole and it just gets bigger and bigger with no escape. I know it's common among pmdd but my family and friends laugh it off saying "It's just pms get over it" So if anyone could help it would be really great. Thanks

Hey Samantha it's no laughing matter, your family, friends, just "think" it's PMS but you may suffer from PMDD as you know and they are not listening.

Who would talk to you an Aunty? Maybe?

If it is affecting you in that fashion of suicidal then you need to take birth control to lesson the pain and lesson the reactions over period pain.

I did when I was your age and it helped, before that I was rolling around on the ground in pain.

Just because your family haven't experienced this doesn't mean you are not..

You need to either really talk to your Mum in how you feel, or someone you feel safe, close to and go see a Doctor to go on the pill to counteract this monster. Where do you live as in what Country?

    I live in Australia
I've tried the pill and it just made matters worse the doctors have put me on ponstan which helps the pain but does nothing for the moods. My mum very much just says that i need to get over it cheer up it's all in my head sort of thing there's nothing wrong with me. I'm not close to any other relatives. My current partner tries to be understanding it's just i get so bad at times it's really difficult to and i don't blame them for getting angry with me. I've seen doctors and they give me painkillers and then if that doesn't work i get sent to teh hospital and get morphine but this is constant and i can't continue it i'm lucky to feel okay for a week each month.

WOW, Morphine? Your kidding me, at your age?

I live in Australia as well, South Australia. Okay, the pill your taking may not be the right one, it may be too light, I was on Tryphasil and I had way bad periods when I was young, not with bleeding just moods.

Walk when you get them just walk, drink lots of water, and I'm not sure about your diet but eat healthy during that time.

They shouldn't get angry at you it's not your fault.. I don't believe your Doctors have found a method, they are just curing the pain with painkillers and morphine whicn your body gets used to.

Your family are caring they just don't know the answer so tell you you to cheer up and deal with it.

    You need another Doctor's opinion...

    I think...
