I did use a public restroom in the ER emergency room when I was therem could I have a infection from there maybe ? I dont know, Im just thinking of everything I can..Im worried
I dont know what this means and Im very worried now. Iam 40 years old.
The last 2 periods Ive had ( im currently on the second one ) have been different. The blood seems to flow FASTER and be a little more red mixed with brown. BUT the odor is very weird !
Its getting less smell as each day goes by but the odor is strong. The first 3 days it smelled like HARSH Strong chemicals and mixed with sweet smell. VERY BAD SMELL! I had to take the pads out of the bathroom each time so it would not smell in there . I dont have itching or burning.
It smelled like a skunk almost and not something I have really smellled before. HAs anyone here ever had this occur to them ?
I did change brands of pads since this has occured to a cheap grocery store brand , but I STILL smelled it off the pad. I thought at first the blood was not absorbing in the pad. Im not sexually active now for a long time since my divorce, so I dont think its STD unless you can get that from public bathroom ?
Please if anyone can help me I would appreacite it, thank you.![]()

What's your diet like?
Lots of fresh veggies?
Fresh fruit?

Hi,
I have not had too much fresh vegetables .
Lots of fruit.
Lots of Coffee ( too much)
I have also been taking Vitamin B ( this has made my urine brigh yellow too)
Thanks for helping me..
Blood has a lot of iron in it, so it could be that. A lot of coffee will do that too. You could try cleaning up your diet and drink less coffee for the next month and see how it goes.
Hi, I will try to change my diet. I hope this does help. I was just wondering if there are any bacteria infections that may cause odor without itching, ect..... that anyone here may know of ?
Thank you .
I did not find anything about this on the net. But a change in smell should be some thing you should tell your GYN. I read that changes in soap, TP, laundry soap, and other things can cause an unpleasant odor. If your body has an adverse reaction to all or any of these than the cells in your Vagina will react too. But I would recommend seeing your GYN for a check up just to be on the safe side.
The public restroom in the ER is what caught my attention. That is like a port-a-potty. I would definitely talk to the Doc on that one.

I don't think it has anything to do w/ the public restroom in the ER or any public room for that matter.
You may have uterine fibroids or going though menopause. Because I am going through the same thing and I have to wrap paper towel around my pads/tampons, then put them in a small grocery bag, tie it up and discard or else the smell is strong and lingers in the room.
So go to your doctor and see about menopause/premenopause and/or fibroids.
