    Hey I'm almost 19 and I got my first period when I was 12.

    I have my period every month, it's just the days are never regular.
    I started tracking the dates in November;

    November 16th
    I forgot to record what date it was in December
    January 1st
    February 12th
    March 9th
    April 2nd

    In that short time space the days between them have ranged from 24 to 42 days, excluding the space between November and January.

    I didn't think much of it. I just knew that I could never plan or predict when I'd have my period and that sucked for trips away or whatever. But today three friends told me I should go to a doctor because after 7 years it should be in a cycle by now.

    I have never smoked, had alcohol, taken drugs or had any kind of sexual activity. I have an adequate diet and excercise a reasonable amount. I do do a lot of activities but I wouldn't say they cause stress cos at the end of the day I always spend a few hours hanging around, watching tv, on my computer or just going out for walks.

    There is a nurse on my campus that only charges €15 for an appointment, and everywhere else charges €50, which I don't have. And my semester ends in a few weeks. So if I have to go to this nurse I want to do it in the next three weeks.

    So do you ladies know if I should go to the doctor?
    Thank you.

    I don't see anything wrong with it. You have it monthly... I don't know anybody who starts on the same day every month.

    Personally, I start between the 25th and 6th. I know my cycles are, on average, 34-36 days.

    I honestly don't see a reason to go to the Dr over it. Unless you want to be put on the pill to regulate it more, but I see nothing wrong with your cycle as it is.

    You might have hormonal imbalance. Have you checked with your OB?
