Hi everyone, I'm brand new here so hopefully I'm not breaking any rules by posting this, because I've searched on the forums and can't find the answer to my exact question.
I'm 21, on BC and a total space cadet. I thought I'd lost my BC about a week and a half into my pack, and....I didn't take it for 4 days and also had unprotected sex with my boyfriend during this time. On the 5th day, I woke up bleeding/spotting. I turned our house upside down and found my birth cotrol pills, took 3, then 2 the next day. But the spotting didn't stop. It was so heavy that it could've been a regular period, which really didn't concern me, but my periods last for 4 days TOPS and I've been spotting now (it's gotten lighter) for almost two weeks.
Let me tell you, it's freaking annoying. But it's worrying me a little bit at this point. I tried having sex because I thought it was done but NOPE!
I'm 99% sure I'm bot pregnant, because i'm totally that girl that always thinks she's pregnant at the drop of a hat and never is.
    Thank you so much!

I'm not sure what you are asking.

But I'm a mom of teenagers and old enough that my younger sisters have kids hitting 30, so I'm going to "mom" you a bit.

I can't give you any reassurance on this. You should know that skipping pills for 3 days pretty much eliminates the protection they provide. Taking none and then taking large doses may be the cause of the spotting. What you should have done was use other protection. Not doing that you should have called your doc and probably taken the MAP. Call the doc office in the morning and find out what you need to do. At the very least you've got your hormones out of wack. If you are pregnant, taking the big doses may have created some risks there. You need to find out what you are dealing with.

If you are a "total space cadet" maybe you should look at getting an IUD or some other method you can't misplace or forget. It would serve you better to quit thinking of yourself as a space cadet and start really deciding to rethink yourself as a responsible woman who makes good choices and never forgets her BC. What you self talk creates what you do and how you respond. You're 21, you're having unprotected sex and I think you know what you need to do, you just have to decide to start doing it.

Agreed WC! Let this be a wake up call for you China. A different method is probably in order. Your chances of being pregnant are definitely there, but not 100% so you may have gotten lucky. Spotting should be the least of your concerns right now. Take a home pregnancy test in the next couple of weeks and then make an appointment with your doctor to discuss different methods.

Definitely take WCs advice on the self talk thing too! This is a big enough scare that you know you need to make some adjustments.

    Good luck.
