    Unhappy Trying to get pregnant

    Hi
I have always had trouble with my periods. Now we are trying to get pregnant and bit concerned.

My doctor suggested me to use a ovulation predictor kit to detect my day of ovulation. I found out that my I ovulated on 8th and had sex that day. I have not done pregnancy test ( will be disappointed if the test shows negative so I hesitate to do it) yet. If I am not pregnant how soon should I get my period if I ovulated on 8th ?

Also does ovulation mean that I will get period or I can still ovulate and have a missing period ?

My doctor says that my overies has around 8 eggs. They are produced but not released. Hence missing periods.

    Please help.

    Thanks !

I don't think it is so easy to predict when you should get your next period if you do not have a regular cycle, however, if your egg did take, it usually takes from 6 to 12 days for the actual implantation to occur and some say that you can usually test 10 to 15 days after ovulation and it could should up.

If it doesn't happen this time, don't be discouraged. Remember a woman's body is constantly fighting the sperm. Our immune systems attack it the minute it gets through. Although billions of sperm are ejaculated, maybe only 2 will actually make to the egg. Alot die before they even fully reach the cervix. The conditions have to be perfect and only those sperm that show the righ characteristics will actually make it through the fallopian tubes. Once they get past that hurdle, they have to be exactly on time of when your egg is released. There are some very interesting shows about this.

    Good luck!
