    Question Medroxyprogesterone AKA Provera

    Hello all,
About a month ago I went to see a reproductive endocrinologist about a small tumor in my pituitary gland found through MRI. That being said, as a result, I haven't had my period since Valentine's Day of this year (2010). Four weeks ago after meeting with Dr. X he gave me a prescription for medroxyprogesterone to take for 14 days and soon after I should have gotten my period. I finished the whole bottle almost 2 weeks ago and still no period! I am also taking bromocriptine to shrink the tumor which for the past 2 weeks has made me sick to my stomach, unable to eat and physically weak. I called dr. X last week to try and find out how long after I stopped taking the progesterone would my period come. He said about a week, that time has come and gone. What can I do? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

If you were physically getting sick because of the bromocriptine, the medroxyprogesterone might not have been able to be absorbed into your system to work effectively. Sorry I can't offer better advice; I'm not exactly sure what either of those two meds really are - that's just the general advice I got from my doctor when I was suffering from nausea after a surgery and I mentioned my BC pills.
