Thread: Spotting on the pill. Pregnant?

Hello,

I am new here but I just have a quick question. I have been on the pill (Loestrin) for about 4 months now. This past week, I have had some spotting for about 4 straight days, however I am not supposed to get my period for another 4 days. I should note that I have not missed a day of taking my pill and my boyfriend and I have always used a condom (which has not appeared to have broken).

My doctor told me that spotting is not uncommon and that it may continue until my next period... Even with that being said, I am still very nervous about pregnancy, simply because I read that spotting can be a sign. Do you think this is something I should be worried about? Also, will this spotting affect my period? (i.e. - will I not get it bc I have already been bleeding this week?).

I've been taking the pill for almost 8 years now and I've had a couple of months where I spotted for about 3 days straight. The first time it happened was after about 3 years so I was sure it was pregnancy. I was wrong. I got the "first response" pregnancy test from the store because it is supposed to detect pregnancy up to 5 days before your period starts. based on the date of this post I'm assuming you've either had your cycle or have found out you're pregnant for sure. I hope everything ends up in your favor! If it happens again I'd highly recommend that pregnancy test and using relaxation techniques, it's crazy how much stress messes with my cycle!
