Are you really dry, vaginally? The brown is generally old blood passing, but I've never heard it be stinging... Have you ever tested or had your PH levels tested?
Hi everyone!What a great website!!
I just have a quick question. For the first 24 hours of my period (just like clockwork!) I experience painful "stinging" menstrual discharge. It's brown in colour (and later turns to red, like normal) and feels almost acidic and it's super uncomfortable. I just use a tampon and it takes the pain away, but if I don't have one on hand the stinging sensation is super painful. It only lasts the first day.
I don't suffer from severe cramps. It's like the actual discharge is what hurts (rather than any kind of cramping).
I'm an otherwise healthy 21 year old virgin and I've never had any menstrual trouble before. This has been going on for maybe 2 years now. I am taking a bcp (to help my skin) but i'm not on any other meds.
I'm curious if anyone has experienced/heard about similar symptoms as me, since I can't find out much else about it!
Thank you so much!!

Friendship Prayer
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch.
Amen

Hi - thanks for the quick reply!![]()
It worries me that I can't find much information about this.
No, I don't tend to be very dry vaginally. I have never had any pH tests done, but I'll go google it for sure!
