a week ago me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex..it was our first time so we were a little unprepared and when i asked if he had any protection, and said no, i should have stopped things there but...i guess we all make mistakes.
as soon as i got the chance i went and bought the morning after pill which was taken about 14 hours after we'd had sex. while ive spent the past week constantly worrying i did come on my period yesterday (3-4 days ealier than i expected) which was somewhat a relief. However i noticed im not as heavy as i usually am and i know this can be a sign that the morning after pill hasnt worked. im usually very regular but ive found myself wondering if im just worried over nothing. It says that if im unusually light/heavy i should see my doctor as i might be pregnant but..how light is..."unusually light"? i usually have to change my pad twice a day for the first 2-3 days and yesterday i seemed almost fine (i suffer from cramps on the first day only and it didnt seem any worse/better than usual)...today, i keep checking my pad and theres not much there and im starting to worry all over again.
i know stress can alter my periods and i know the morning after pill would have affected it too but this is the first time this has happened (and will be the last..condoms have been bought and i'll be making an appointment with my doctor about going on the Pill as soon as i can) but theres only so much information i can find about the morning after pill and its side effects etc...just wondering if im panicing too much. i know theres probably only a small chance i might be pregnant but i guess hearing from people would help....i havent told anyone else so i guess i was looking for a little friendly advice and maybe first hand experience if anyones been in a similar situation.![]()
If you took the pill within 24 hours then there is little chance you are pregnant, especially since you are having your period. I think you're fine. Everything you stated is correct, the pill, stress, etc can alter your period. If you're still worried, take a home test when your period is over.
