Vaginal Bleeding, Low Iron/Vitamin D

For starters, Hello!

I'm new here and looking for some advice. Everything I am talking about below has already been discussed with 3 different doctors.

A little about me... I'm 22 & have been married for 5 years, I have had 2 pregnancies... one live birth and one miscarriage. I am sexually active with my husband when he's not deployed. [So I've been "abstinent" for 5 months now]

Okay, so... July 2009 through October 2009 I had extremely heavy and long periods. They would last 3 to 4 weeks, I'd stop for about a week, and start again. The doctor's did some tests, but everything came back good they said. No STD's, no pregnancy, etc. Never received a reason for this, it just stopped suddenly.

December 2009 my husband and I conceived our second child.

Now fast forward to May 2010... I had a miscarriage at when I was 21 weeks along, afterwards I spotted for about 1 week, bled for about 3.5 weeks, stopped bleeding for 1.5 weeks and then had the Mirena IUD put in June 29th.

After having the IUD put in I started bleeding almost immediately. The amount of bleeding randomly changed, I would go from spotting to heavy with in the same day. I ended up bleeding for 5 weeks after that. I had harsh cramps and vaginal pressure the entire time which lead me to just having it removed early morning August 3rd. Within minutes of removal the vaginal bleeding, pressure, and cramps nearly seized to exist & the no bleeding lasted until late night August 4th. Then I started bleeding pretty heavy. No cramps or discomfort. Just bleeding. It's been between spotting and a moderate flow.

My doctor did some tests, I have a low vitamin D (19 is what I'm at, & I should be at at least 55) and an iron deficiency. Which I have been given pills for each of these... I'll list below the medications I am currently taking.

Now I'm starting to get frustrated with all this because I've been bleeding near non stop for about 11 weeks. Basically I'm keeping Kotex in business! But my husband who is currently deployed to Iraq and has been for 5 months now will be coming home next week for 2 weeks of R&R. So basically I need to be good to go if you catch my drift.

Super Strength Vitamin D3 2000IU [Take 2 once a day]

Prenatal Plus Vitamins [Take 1 once a day]

Ibuprofen 600mg [Take 1 once a day]

FeroSul Sulfate 325mg [Take 1 once a day]

The Vitamin D dosage is higher than the normal because of how low mine is, the Prenatals I they gave me due to my symptoms, the Ibuprofen is for cramping or discomfort, and the FeroSul Sulfate is for my Iron. I have also started drinking and Organic "Raspberry Leaf Tea" which is good for Female Health/Reproductive System, I was told this could make a difference in the vaginal bleeding I'm having.

Does anyone have any advice on how to make this bleeding stop at all? I am seriously at my breaking point and don't know what to do anymore.

Any advice would be most helpful and very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance!

I wish I could help you, it sound like a nightmare. Perhaps you could go and see a Naturopath? One that specialises in Women's fertility and such. Get a second opinion from a different GP perhaps? Doctors don't know everything, it's a lot of trial and error sometimes, maybe someone different may try a different approach, or may have had a patient with your problem before.
As for the IUD, I was reading up on it the last few weeks, as I was thinking about having one, but I read too many horror stories about them, I don't think I read even one good thing about them. And everyone seems to have bled for weeks after having them put in.
