2 week long period so far - any ideas??

Hi there

I am hoping that someone may be able to help me on here as I have to wait another week to get a GP appt. I have had a period that has lasted for 2 weeks so far, I only usually bleed for 6 days at most but for some reason this time my period has continued. The 1st week was a normal week, i even had the really light flow that i always get when i am going to finish, however the next day the flow became dark brown in colour and i have period pains which i never have! I am a bit worried as to what has caused this to happen as I have never had this happen before. Is it something that anyone else has experienced before. I hope that someone can help me, thank you in advance

Are you on any form of birth control? What kind of period pains are you speaking of....

Hi Hazel,

I don't mean to alarm you, but I had this same thing happen to me, and didn't go see my doctor until I had been bleeding for nearly a month. Turns out that I had an ectopic pregnancy, which can be extremely dangerous. I had no other symptoms, so be sure to have this checked by your doctor. Fortunately, I did not need surgery, but I received a shot of methotrexate to end the pregnancy (it cannot succeed outside the uterus). I wish you the best of luck.

yeah, i think that's normal. but if anyone can help me it would be appreciated,
im like 13 and i have the worst periods. it's like horrible. i change my pad every, like, 1 hour, and at night i bleed so much it ends up on my bed in a little puddle. i also have started VERY bad period cramps which i never get, and it's to the point where i'm moaning and crying on the ground and i have cold and hot flashes, and have to ask if it's hot/cold or if it's just me. i get pissed off a lot on my period and also PMS. i get really mad and snap at my parents, usually getting grounded

. but i bleed A LOT and most of the time, it goes on my underwear, even through my pants. also, when i go to the bathroom, there is so much blood that when i wipe, its black. it hurts a lot and i get nausiated and for the whole time i have my period i use 2 super heavy flow overnight pads. can anyone help??
