brown discharge before period - Page 2

My daughter hasn't started her period yet , but she has been having white discharge, like a milky color, and then brown disharge. Are these symptons of something or is she just going to start her period soon? Please help!!

I hear ya...I just found this website SO GREAT! I wish I had an answer for all of you but I have the same question......I knew I wasn't the only women out there experiencing this but felt like I was. I had light brown discharge before my period this past Feb and right now. Not March though. In Feb it happened after I went skiing really hard one day, lasted for a week then I got my period. Now, I have NO idea why. I've heard everything from hormones to stress. I am 30, not sexually active (unfortunately), just quit smoking, and stress oh yes, life has been challenging. I have a weird sensation in my lower abdominal, kinda like I would if I was having my period. I am due any day. What is going on?????

this is happing to me too, just after two weeks off my period, i get this discharge like my period wants to start up again and with lite bleeding. i am 41 and i know i will be menopausing soon and god help me that i don't get the things like how sweats and etc; like i said a lite clot fell from me and i had a wet discharge of fluid which made me go to the bathroom to see what it was and then i said,oh no! here i go again in less then two weeks. what do this mean? this is a scary thing and i feel what you feel too but i have no answers neither

i would think it's here period getting her body ready, but when i think back when i started my period at 11, i just came down like water running from a river, i don't remember the discharge though, i get it now before my period for a day or two than come the bleeding. i stay on for the full 7 days.

Hi Everyone. I am new to this post and would just like to add that I too have been experiencing the brown discharge, 1 week before my period. I came off the pill in January this year and have regular periods, but on most months have had the brown discharge a week before I'm due. The thing I'm confused about is which day is actually the first day of my period as we are ttc. Do I count the day where it turns to red heavy blood with period pain the first day? Thank you to anyone who can help!

i'm so confused and stressed about my problems right now

i'm 17, and i guess sexually active? (with one person only ever, and we use protection)
the thing is, last month, i took birth control pills to delay my period, and had my period during the 3rd week of may (after i quit the pill). but then, my period, unlike the past, was really light (i normally went heavy for 3 days and had really irregular periods). and i never really had a "heavy day".
but a while before that, i started to have sex with my boyfriend (and we used protection all the time)
but a few days ago, when my boyfriend pulled out, i noticed some blood on him (orangish pink blood), and i had slightly bloody? discharge.
i am due for my period in about a week... and i was wondering if it was discharge?
spots of brownish/lightish blood still does come out, but when i use the restroom, i do get some bright red blood out...
and i'm even more confused because i though the pill was supposed to regulate your period?
(but the thing is, i didn't follow the instructions because all i needed was to delay my period)

what's going on with me?! i'm so scared something's wrong with me.

Hi. I also have had this brown discharge the first day I was due to start this month. It last for 2 days (June 4 and 5) then nothing now. I have heard that this is old blood left over from last month, but why would it take a month to drain? Is this normal? I am still waiting for my period to start. I am so irregular and getting tired of it. aNy advise? I'm 45, so maybe it's premenopause.

brown discharge can be normal it can be a warm up discharge before your period. It sounds like your last period was a while ago. Are you usually regular? Have you considered getting a preg test just to put your mind at ease.

I've had this type of discharge (brownish) about a week before my period for several years. I always call it my warning sign. I haven't been on birth control for almost 20 years so I don't feel that my be the cause. I do have a few small fibroids and suffer very heavy bleeding durinn the first 2-3 days of my cycle. I just had my first child in February and now my period has been very unpredictable. My period just went off about 17 days ago. I had the brownish discharge for 7 days and now some type of period is here but not my normal cycle...

hey all,
last i heard the discharge is normal. BUT i'm kindda freaking out coz i was on my period for May toward the end of the month , then the weekafter ...during my ovulation i saw the disharge , but on the second day my cycle came up again ..this is last week, my period for June was -is due on the 23rd!!! HELP!!
