As long as you feel you got the tampon out, I don't think there is any reason to go to the Dr.
BigSo for only the 3rd time in my life, I decided to try a tampon. I thought it would be "smart" to take advantage of a cheap Store Brand that came with assorted 5 for less than a $1 with a coupon I had. I also am posting this as a disclaimer to be extra cautious with Store tampons as opposed to "name" brands, Anyway, I unwrapped the first one, a Super one. I had no intent of using it, I merely, as stated in my other thread, thought it would be a good diea for me to see how a tampon worked by lightly running it under the sink. The water was barely coming out and lo and behold...after removing the flat tampon, it broke off from the applicator! That should have told me not to actually try inserting one but I did. Also on the 1st one, the tip of the tampon looked like a tiny piece of it was missing--not quite rounded.
Anyway, since I'm on "Day 1" I tried (insertion) with the one "Light" tampon in the package. The "positive" thing was unlike my last attempt, this one went in MUCH easier. The only problem was the darn tampon broke right off after I "ejected" it? (Is that the term) Luckily, I was able to immediately remove the tampon from my body. No pieces of it appeared missing or anything.
I'll definitely be sticking with pads until such time as I really need a tampon either for sports or long drive, whatever, but would feel better hearing I don't need to call my gyn. I mean to have him "check" or anything for fibers.
Thanks everyone

Thanks LanaBear, I definitely got it all out without any trouble. In fact it broke at the point when my fingers had just touched my body so it really wasn't even necessarily "all the way up in there" yet--which helped. My post was just for my own peace of mind. I may be in my 30's but have been a pad lady so am truly new to tampons. I appreciate it. I like your board name, btw. I used to be a huge fan of tv show on Lifetime. One of the characters was named "Lana."
lol - thanks...
I'm going to toss out another suggestion if you are 'tampon' exploring. But have you heard of a Diva Cup? I started using one a couple of months ago and I LOVE IT. It doesn't dry me out like tampons do, it takes a little bit to get used to as far as insertion, but it really is great I've found. Plus you can wear it for 12 hours and I have with no leaking problems whatsoever.

Thanks again Lana, I have heard (vaguely) of the Diva cup. Honestly, for now, I am so used to pads that I'm going to stick with them. I only tried the tampon initially to see if it'd be less irritating. I'm more "interested" (hoping) that a day or so after the end of this cycle will bring the real end of my female troubles. See my other post. Though I'm already sick of "this time of month" I truly am fed up with the other! Oh well, time to rest. Have a good night everyone.![]()
