Hello everyone. I'm 24 years old, almost 25. My whole life my period has been slightly irregular. I also have endometriosis and occasional bouts of ovarian cysts. These types of problems run in my family and every woman, excluding myself, ended up having a hysterectomy before the age of 40.

Well, 4 months ago i had a c-section. My recovery was relatively fast and i thought all was well. My period returned 6 weeks postpartum (around August 26th). Then, like clockwork (to my surprise) it returned on september 26th. But with this one, i was having tons of side, abdominal and back pain, and it spread down into my legs. All the pain i felt was in the week before my period. When my period came, there were no cramps, although the flow was very heavy, i thought it had to do with the section. In October, it also came right on time on the 26th and again, the week before was just awful. But, this time, my period was brownish black and only lasted about 2 days.

This month, my period is 2 days late. I've had none of the above mentioned pain. I have gained 10 pounds in the past month and i feel like the normal amount of facial hair i do have, which i control by waxing, has increased.

I've taken two pregnancy tests, even though i know i'm not pregnant, they both came up negative.

I have been stressed out pretty badly. I have an 3 1/2 year old daughter and we found out her father had been doing some pretty messed up things to her and now we are dealing with the court process and her healing mentally. I found out about what was happing on September 27th, and i's been pretty non-stop stress since then.

Could it just be stressed or should i be worried?

    Melody,
It's for posts like this one that I really wish we had more gynecologist on this site. But most of us are just regular women who may or may not have experienced a certain issue in our own lives. Therfor I cannot answer you question completly. But as for the stress part I understand first hand what it's like having someone close to you become imprisoned and the stress related. My brother is currently incarcerated and it has been very difficult for me and my family. Not for the reasons that you have (his crime was non violent, arson). So I understand the court system can be very difficult to deal with, and with the added stress of your daughter being the victim is horrible, I would assume. So while I cannot fully answer your question, I wish you and your little girl the best and a I think I speak for all of the women of this site when I say we will all do our best to be here for you.

That said stress can cause all sorts of health problems ,and the increase in severity of your condition ,can most likley be blamed on it. Right now your whole focus should be on taking care of your daughters health as well as your own, maybe getting both of you into some sort of therapy. And you should get with you gyno as soon as possible. And I wish you the best of luck with putting this man away for a long time.

Could easily be stress related. The fact that things are going like clockwork is a sign that period wise your hormones are back on track. Black-brownish stuff is old blood/old uterine lining....all women eventually have that. The pain, not sure what more can be done if it is before your period and therefore could be considered PMDD symptoms. A doctor visit may help to put your mind at ease, and therefore help with some stress, but not sure what they would say other than try to make it a bit more comfortable by taking Advil and putting hot water bottles on the sore body parts.

    Default what is going on??

Well it finally started, no cramps again...
It's very heavy and bright red...losing clots...
And whenever I have a bowel movement or urinate, i have ALOT of pelvic pain. It doesn't feel like a bladder infection, it's a very intense ache.

    What does this sound like?

I would have made an appointment with my doctor, but medicaid and my current PCP messed up my referral and now i can't go see my doc for another month. I live in southern louisiana and our healthcare system hasn't quite bounced back from Katrina.
