    Default extreme cramps

I have severe pain with my cycle every month. I have severe cramps to the point of me not being able to do anything except lay down with the heating pad on me. Advil used to work and so did naproxen sodium but not anymore. I have been to the dr. and was put on BC to control the pain/irregularity and it didn't help with the pain- actually made it worse. (I'm on Lutera BC).

The symptoms of my cycle are:

Extreme cramps (stabbing pain and achy)
    Dizzyness
    Nausea
    Fast Heart rate
really weak to the point of all I want to do is lay down
    headache
    sweating

My appetite is supressed also- I don't want to eat anything at all. Any advice?

    Thanks in advance.

When was your last pap smear/pelvic exam? I would go to the doctor.... tell them to give you a full exam. I had the same symptoms about a year and a half ago and it turned out that I had 4 fibroid tumors (non cancerous). Fibroid tumors are very common and often times they burst on their own and go away and women don't even know that they had them. Mine were rather large (1 the size of a grapefruit and 3 the size of a lime) so they did surgery and removed them. Prior to them being removed my periods had gotten very heavy and for an entire week I was totally useless because the pain was so bad. My stomach was bloated and during my period it bloated even more. The problem with fibroid tumors is they usually aren't found during an exam mine were discovered because of the pain I was having and my pap/pelvic exam came back normal. The doctor sent me in for an ultra sound to find out why I was in such pain and that's how they were discovered. Another thing that comes to mind is possibly pelvic inflammitory disease, or HPV. The only way to know for sure is to see a doctor. I hope they figure out and fix what is causing your pain. Good luck.

Thank you- I will check with the dr. soon. I've never had sex so HPV is not a possiblity. My mom used to have ovarian cysts could it be those?

I've never had either of them. At the time I was really young when I first went to the ob/gyn and didn't want a exam and that was stupid of me I should have just had one anyways regardless if if I was scared or not.

I suffered from the same thing as you before my uterine ablation. It literally felt like I was giving birth each month - I would pass clots the size of golf balls. Not fun at all. I did find that BC pills helped but I eventually had to stop taking them because I started to get blood clots in my calves. Maybe BC pills will help you?

I have been on BC off/on for the past 3 years, It doesn't really help with the pain, it actually usually makes it worse and I can't tell a difference in the flow regardless if I'm on BC or not. Also, BC is now causing me to have Raynaud's syndrome. I googled Raynaud's and it runs in our family and is heriditary. I read that BC can cause Raynaud's syndrome and before I started taking BC I never had that problem so I'm going off BC for a while. I started taking BC again in March of this year because my cycles were going too long, so I thought I'd start BC again and then Raynauds happened a few months later. I do want a family and all that so keep that in mind when posting advice also.
