I have an appointment with my gyn, when I talked to her on the phone about my heavy periods, she said Mirena might work for me. I tried a BCP before but I had side effects and had to quit. I can't have children so birth control is not an issue.

Has anyone used Mirena for heavy periods? Does Mirena cause any other problems, I have read other posts and some things sound troubling. I'll be seeing her next week and after the exam, I'll have to make a decision.
