Thread: Never ending menstal cycle

I have had my period for about 7 months staight. I have only had one 3 week timespan where I have gone without bleeding of some sort. I have had 5 children and am only 31. I don't think that I'm getting close to menapause yet. I also have clots and a brown discharge about constantly. I am scared to find out something is seriously wrong. I have contemplated having a full hysterectomy because of this. I have been tested for std's and am all clear there. I don't know what to do.

About 5 years ago I bled for a little over a year (with a break here & there, but never more than a couple days without bleeding) . I had to switch gynos because mine said "this is just unexplained bleeding, we have to let it take its course" and I wasn't happy with that answer! My new gynecologist did a d & c...I stopped bleeding within a couple weeks! He found that my uterus had built up so thick & wasn't "shedding" properly. You may be scared now, but you'll be more scared if you let it continue & it develops into something worse...take care of it now, for your sake & also your children's' ) Good luck & best wishes!
