Default No period for 2 years - Provera didnt work

I am 29 years old and I am going on 2 years without a period. I went off of bc for 3 months after not having a period for 9 months and still no period. So now I am back on bc and once in a while I have a small amount of dark discharge when I should be on my period but never a full period. I have had so many tests done including an MRI of the brain where they did find a small tumor in my pituarity gland however it was determined to be non-functioning. I also did the 10 day Provera challenge and still nothing. I was also tested for Cushings Syndrome and that was negative. I am at a loss and so are my Dr's. I would like to try getting pregnant sometime next year and I am really affraid that this is going to prevent it from happening. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what to do? I really appreciat the help.

I wish I could help you out, I'm waiting for my Dr.'s OK to start taking Provera. I haven't had my period in over 2 years. I'm 24 and my Dr. thinks I might have PCOS. Have you been diagnosed with PCOS. Or has your Dr. tried any other pills, like Clomid ?

Default Years without periods... eventually diagnosed with PCOS

It is good that your doctors are at least trying to figure out what is going on. Mine just said it was stress, or diet, or whatever... never did tests until I asked for a referral to an endocrinologist. And that referral was hard to come by, I really had to twist my primary care physician's arm to get it!

My hormones were only slightly off, but all the signs and symptoms added up and I was diagnosed with PCOS. I was immediately put on metformin and BCP until my cycle became regular; now I am off BCP and we are TTC (trying to conceive). We are 6 mo. into the process with no luck yet and my periods are getting farther and farther apart. Looks like I might be headed back to the days of none :/

Good luck to you on finding a solution
    xoxo

How long ago was it that you took Provera? Are they going to wait it out a bit and try and do another round of it again? I've had to do two rounds of 7 days of progesterone to get a period to come on while we were going through fertility treatment. I also have PCOS, not uncommon to go 6 months without my period here. Did they find any issues with hormone levels, even slight? Are you seeing a gynecologist or a reproductive endocrinologist for this? My Gyn couldn't tell me what was going on and why Clomid(or Provera once) wouldn't work for me, all my bloodwork seemed within normal range to her. My first visit with the endocrinologist he took one look at the same test results she had and was "99%" sure I had PCOS, the ultrasound confirmed it. If your not already seeing a reproductive endocrinologist, it might worth looking into getting a referral, especially since you are trying to get pregnant, or start trying soon.
