I just want opinions on this before I consult someone IRL, since i don't like to incite worry in other people unnecessarily.
I've been under a lot of stress lately. So much so that I got my period in the middle of my pack of birth control; it was fairly heavy (not excessively so, but more than my normal periods since going on BC almost 2 years ago) and lasted a week. I am not perfect at taking the pill but am 99% sure the PRIMARY and possibly only cause for this period was extreme stress (not missed pills), as it's caused my period to come early before, and I've missed up to 2 pills before and not even begun spotting.
Now, about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks later, I am on the placebo row where I SHOULD be getting my period. nada. it's as if I never stopped taking the pill this week. I should have gotten my period 3-4 days ago. Could this just be because I essentially bled out everything my uterus "had" to shed in the middle of the pack?
Besides being on the pill, which like I said I'm not perfect with but rarely miss a day, I have otherwise unprotected sex w/ my boyfriend. He doesn't pull out or anything because honestly I really never cared much to take such measures, I always felt the pill was/is enough to make the chances of pregnancy very very low, and I'm just not the type to stress much about that stuff tbh. Should I be worried since I don't have my period now though? Even though I had it in the middle of the BC pack, about 2 weeks ago?
or is my cycle simply screwed up from the stress-induced period and it should right itself with the next BC pack or what?
Hi, I do not use any OCPs, but I can tell you that you should be getting your period. The fact that half-way through your cycle you experienced heavy bleeding is a little odd. Usually mid-period bleeding is light.
If you want to relieve your worry, buy a pregnancy test. If it's negative and you still don't get your period you can either a) go to the doctor or b) wait to see if it's regular next month.
Do whatever will help you stress out/worry less. Good luck with everything!
And if you're not "perfect" with taking the pill (who is?) then you might want to try backing up your birth control method, at least around the days you miss your pill.![]()
