Hello there, I'm new here and I am confused about my cycle. I was on the Depo shot for five years with no period. I decided to switch to the pill to see if the Depo had contributed to weight gain. Was on Loestrin for 6 months before I realized the hormones were making me depressed, so I stopped the pill and didn't have a withdrawl bleed or anything, so I went to my doc. He did an internal ultrasound and said that it looked like my uterine lining was building up and I should have a period soon. Well, I did! It started on February 10th and lasted through February 17th. Imagine my surprise when I began spotting on February 25th! It was dark brown and I didn't even need a tampon, pad, or liner. A couple times I thought I needed a tampon, but I was wrong. It turned sort of like a normal period on March 3rd and 4th, but even then it wasn't quite right. It still seemed very thick and dark in some ways and there still wasn't a normal "flow". It was gone before March 5th. I have an app on my phone that I can track my period with and I've been looking at it and realizing that today it has been 41 days since the start of what I think was my last "real" period (kind of funny because it was also the first "real" period in 5 1/2 years!). Could I still be adjusting to coming off of the birth control? I figured that I was mostly straightened out since the doc saw my lining was building up normally and I had about a week long period. I doubt I'm pregnant - my fiance and I have been using condoms since I stopped the pill, and we rarely have sex anyway.
